Made of Fail....

I haven't had time to post here in forever, much less even play my Sims. I know all of five people read this journal, but I figured I should say something so I don't end up another casualty of Legacy-itis.
Stuff has been ridiculously busy. It's the busy season for work, what with the many conventions in the summer that I have to get prepared for. I'm interviewing for a new day-job, since the whole self-employed/freelance comic thing isn't reliable enough anymore in today's economy. I'm planning a move in July into a new, smaller (and cheaper) apartment, and then in October, my fiance (
suarez) and I are getting married. Despite the fact that we are just doing the justice-of-the-peace thing this year and the reception/party next year, there's still a ridiculous amount of planning that has to go on. (Can't we just get married in the kitchen in our underwear, with no one else around like the Sims can? Please? It'd save me a ton of stress, seriously.) And that means yet ANOTHER move in October. I absolutely hate moving and really wish there was a Family Bin I could be plopped into, and then voila, I'd be in a new perfectly furnished place. Alas, real life isn't as easy to control as the Sims are. Ugh.
I am still playing the Rosales-Varma Family when I get the chance (despite their lot being LAGGY AS HELL due to having so many Sims on it, and the sheer size), and have played a little of the Goreys. (I was really bummed when Friedrich lost his fishbelly white skintone, I wasn't able to find that old Enayla custom tone when I reinstalled all her skins/eyes. It must have been REALLY old.) I also (stupidly) started another legacy, on the Rainbow Legacy challenge theme, but I don't plan to post her story until I get a few generations in. I have a ton of screenshots to be sorted, processed and uploaded. My problem now is just that I have so little time to play/update between working, packing, planning and attempting to sleep sometimes. My bars are seriously all in the orange.
Anyway, just thought I should mention what's going down in case anyone was curious, or wondering if I'd fallen off the face of the planet.

Date: 2008-05-17 03:13 am (UTC)Definitely a shame it's not as easy as sims. [pause][buymode]click click click click [cheat window] motherlode [buymode] click click click [unpause].... rocking wedding party! =P
Do you remember the name of the Enayla skin? I have rather a large Enayla folder, if I have the skin I can send it to you =) Otherwise I've got a couple of white Arthemista skins that I quite like.
So which comics do you work on? Illustrator, inker or writer? I'm intrigued! =D

Date: 2008-05-19 07:34 pm (UTC)I do freelance editing and manga rewrite (basically, I take the raw translation and make it into real English that doesn't sound like word salad...). I've done work for Antarctic Press (back in the early 1990's), Dark Horse, DMP... but there are a lot of lulls in the work. Hence, the dayjob fun and games. Oh, and I run a small-press publishing company, but it's mostly just furry stuff and American manga type things. Very low print runs...
