Finally, I am posting the last of my Gorey Legacy pictures. Alas, they are all gone. ALAS! Nothing could be saved when my previous hard drive crashed and burned. But here, enjoy some images from the past of Sims that will never be seen again!

Embley and Breanna, calmly discussing whether they should maybe woohoo or not. Stick two lesbian Knowledge Sims together and they aren't really going to light the world on fire with their passion, know what I'm sayin'?

And that's all that's left. It's still kind of sad that they're all gone.

I've been playing a bit with my new founder, Epitwee Gorey (Friedrich's long lost cousin, I've decided) and she's been fun so far. I also started a Rainbow Legacy challenge, with Alizarin Polychrome. (Unlike most Rainbow Challenges, I'm actually doing the rainbow in correct ROY G. BIV order, so I am starting with red.) I still have to track down my Photoshop install disk though, I can't do any editing on my screenshots yet at all. Which is frustrating. But hey, eventually I'll be able to update those legacies? One hopes?

Anyway, here's a couple of completely un-Photoshopped preview pictures of my two new founders for the new challenges I'm doing. In a cut again, because they might be big.

Anyway, they're both pretty fun so far. I'm looking forward to getting the pictures ready and doing new updates. I miss talking about my Sims.

I still had some snaps uploaded to my Photobucket site that I hadn't gotten to yet; hence we have an update of lost Sims left for your reading enjoyment. It's enjoyment that will be tempered with sadness though, since not one of these Sims survived the Massive Hard Drive Meltdown of Doom. Alas!

Let's start with some cute toddler spam, since that's cheerful. Zillah is all about the activity table. Dozens and dozens more pictures under the cut...

That's all for now. There's one more batch of pictures left to do, and then this iteration of the Goreys will disappear into the big Sim-Bin in the sky. I've got a new Gorey Legacy founder made up, and have started playing her story (Epitwee Gorey, a long-lost distant cousin of Friedrich Gorey...), so she will get her time to shine once this is finished up.

I'm still kind of peeved that my hard drive was unsalvageable, but what can you do? Just have to move on! Thanks for reading, as always.

Missed my usual Sunday updates a couple of times there. Alas! This Wednesday update will have to hold people, since it's doubtful if I can get to an update this coming Sunday. It's a busy week!

We'll start this update with Hobart getting promoted! He's now a CEO, at the top of the Business career track! Also, this puts him perma-platinum.

That's all for this update. Not terribly long, but I wanted to at least get something up since I'm trying to maintain a good update schedule. I'm leaning towards Dawbis so far as the Generation 3 heir, but who knows, with Zillah and Fetus #2 in the mix now. Plus, who knows who will impress me in college. (It's not that I dislike Snedleigh, he's just... kinda... there.) ^_^ As always, thanks for reading!
doronjosima: (nerd)
Another Sunday, another Gorey update! Last time, Friedrich, our illustrious founder died immediately after moving into a new less-buggy house on a new less-buggy lot. Breanna got fired from her dream job in the Journalism career and Epergne attempted to throw her mack down on a few random guys, though she was blocked in her attempts by her live-in boy toy Hobart.

Epergne often forgets she is a Romance Sim, and interacts with her nephews frequently. Or, maybe she's feeling extra maternal due to her pregnancy.

And that's enough for now. Not a massive update, but an update. Three in three weeks, shoot, I don't even know how I am doing it!

As always, thanks for reading!
doronjosima: (Default)
Updates a mere week or so apart? How is this possible? ;D

When we last left the Goreys, Friedrich's wife Naenae had just died. Also, their house had just started glitching and being impossible to load. So, they loaded up all their rare items (gravestones, heir portraits, aspiration rewards) and moved to Beverly, Hills that is. No wait, that's the Beverly Hillbillies. These guys just moved across town in Veronaville, into a new house I built for them.

Everyone milling about in front of the new place, which is much taller than the old one.

And that's all for now. Sorry most of this update was house spam, but hey, there was some excitement at the end there, huh? I'm really going to miss Friedrich and Naenae.

As always, thanks for reading.
doronjosima: (flex)
So, uh, I haven't updated since July. To my credit, I was in the middle of a move... but now that we are moved in and I have internets again, things won't be so hectic and maybe I can update more frequently...? Maybe? Oh, who am I kidding....

Anyway, it's Gorey time! Yes, it's everyone's favorite goofball goth family! Okay, maybe not everyone's, but certainly mine.

We start with Epergne trying to put the moves on the guy who came home from work with her mom.

Epergne: You could pestle my mortar, if you know what I mean! Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more!

Epergne isn't the best Romance Sim ever, sadly.

Immediately after this life-shattering event happened, my game started glitching a ridiculous amount. The lot wouldn't load, or it would load and then crash a lot. I tested all my CC, I used the Batman Box from MATY, nothing worked. Thus, the Goreys packed up their irreplaceable items into their inventories and moved to a new lot and new house I built for them. I think my game just can't handle the traditional 5x5 lots required in Legacy Challenge rules. Next time, it's more Goreys in their all new house!

As always, thanks for reading.

.... So it's been a month since my last update. I don't even have the excuse that I'm playing Sims 3, either. No, I am just lame about updating. I've played ahead a good bit, too, just haven't had time to get the pics ready/posted/commented on. Lord, am I slow.

Anyway! Enough whining! GOREYS, NOW.

We start with Breanna serenading Embley. In the bathroom. What is with my Sims and romantic gestures in bathrooms?! They're still in love after two children though, which is kind of nice.

And that's all of that for now. I have more to come, if I can just get it ready. Let's hope it doesn't take a month!
doronjosima: (nerd)
Sick at home on my day off, so what better to do than update my Goreys? I know it's already passe to play Sims 2, but I have so much left to do in the game, I will be in it for the long haul. Besides, I finally just got the Goreys into a new working household again; their last lot was buggy and had become unplayable. But that's for future updates! I still have this backlog!

Grandparents are good for teaching skills to toddlers. Friedrich really adores his grandsons, despite their unholy conception from two women. Also, TEACHING THE BABY WITH THE WOLF IS PROBABLY A BAD IDEA. Knowledge sims, I swear.

That's all for now. Thanks again for reading!

Wow, guess all that picture uploading I did doesn't help a whit if I never bother to post another update, does it? Good job, me! To be fair, work has been a bear lately, and I'm getting ready to go to A-Kon, the big local anime convention at the end of this month. So, busy, busy times. But WHO CARES, right? Does that get you Goreys? It DOES NOT. So, here they come!

When we last left off, Embley was frozen in the middle of labor. Thank goodness it didn't actually take her a month to give birth.

It's a baby boy! The Big Book of Edward Gorey Baby Names (aka, my Sims notebook) is consulted, and he is given the name Dawbis! He has Breanna's coloring.

A short update this time, alas. But I have more to work on, when I get the chance. Next time, more toddler picspam, more of Epergne's utter failure as a Romance Sim, and more general Gorey-ness. Thanks for reading!
doronjosima: (whoa)
Finally have a free moment (and a backlog of pics uploaded...), so it's time for a Gorey Legacy update! Last time, all of Gen2 graduated college and had found someone to shack up with; Boggerslosh and Eepie lost the heir race and became spares (though both married and produced children- Harold and Lizzia, respectively); Epergne and Embley were chosen as Double Heirs for the Gorey name.

Embley moved back home and wasted no time in calling up her college fiancee, Breanna Thompson.

Next time, we'll see what Embley has, and find out who they take after. Always my favorite part of simming!
doronjosima: (Default)
I really haven't had much time to play between work and life, but there have been tiny pokings at Goreys every so often. Not enough pics for a regular update, but soon. In the meantime, you get to see what the non-heirs have made of their lives. (Since they are not legacy heirs, they are allowed to have massive cheating going on with the SimBlender...) Also, because I am obsessed with seeing what comes out when you breed Sims. (It's a sickness!)

We start with Boggerslosh and his fiancee, Meadow, moving in to a decent apartment.

That's all for now, as always, thanks for reading and I hope to get back to the heirs and their future progeny soon!
doronjosima: (nerd)
Stealing some time to update! Last time, everyone in Generation 2 managed to lose their virginity in college, most of them ended up engaged, and no one really did anything too terribly amazing, unless you count Epergne's makeouts with guys who aren't her boyfriend.

We start this episode with Embley, who has inherited the ability to make awesome faces while playing herself at chess.

And that is that for this episode! Next time, we discover what happens to the non-heirs post-college, and Embley and Epergne move home to live in the legacy house forever... As always, thanks for reading!
doronjosima: (Default)
Finally a day off, and one where I previously uploaded a bunch of pictures so I can do an update! It's college time for the Second Generation of the Goreys!

We start with Eepie in her college makeover, which looks remarkably like her teen look. She rocks the look that works for her. In other words, blonde and pink extensions. I kept the pink leopard print outfit she transitioned into, because it worked for her. She is an Art major.

Anyway, that's it for now. Soon we'll get to see graduations, and find out who actually gets chosen as heir in the heir race! Comments are like delicious cake to me, and always welcome. Thanks for reading!
doronjosima: (love)
Yes, it's been months. I work a lot. (Two jobs...) Also, I'm married now, and have more social obligations because of that. It's rude to ignore the husband for hours to play the Sims on the rare occasions we have time off together. XD Anyway! Who cares about that? You want Goreys!

If you recall, Naenae got old last time (so did Friedrich), but she also maxed her Games enthusiasm! Now she has the Hi-Pro Glow every time she plays a game. Which means just about CONSTANTLY.

There you go, a big fat update! Next time, the college years, including makeovers, first woohoos, engagements, and the announcement of who is and isn't heir! (Heir speculation welcome...)

Thanks for reading and I hope everyone has a great New Year's! Happy Simming!
doronjosima: (love)
It's miraculous, I am actually writing another update in the SAME MONTH as my last update. MIRACULOUS.

Last time, Epergne became a teen, the twins Eepie and Embley became children, Naenae got demoted at work, a nanny got fired, a burglar stole some stuff and got away, and Boggerslosh had his first kiss. Seems like a lot when you write it out like that.

Eepie reveals that despite her Valley-Girl-esque traits, she's still genetically a Gorey, and thus, would like to see ghosts, please.

Hooray, I finally got Apartment Life! And hooray, I finally have a rare evening off, so here come more Goreys. Some of these screenies are quite old though, so here's hoping I remember what I was planning to write for them, heh heh...

Friedrich also is quite confused about the long lag between posts....

That's it for this batch, more to come later if I can get some more time off from work.

I did finally figure out that the hacked clothes rack was not the issue, I had some corrupted outfits in my adult female clothes downloads folder that crashed the game whenever I would get to them in the catalog. After spending a whole day trying to track down which ones they were, I ended up deleting the whole folder and starting over. Which has meant a painstaking re-downloading process for all my AF clothes. I also discovered I'd accidentally filed a lot of meshes and recolors for teens, males and elders in the AF folder, so I had to track all of those down too. Some outfits I haven't been able to replace sadly, like Naenae's skanktacular fetish skirt/corset combo. But, now my game doesn't crash, so that's a good thing! I found decent enough replacements, which will show up in the next installment. ^_^

As usual, thanks for reading!
doronjosima: (whoa)
I've determined that between work (two jobs), life and all that, it's nigh-on impossible for me to do big updates with hundreds of pictures (or even get to play TS2 that much). Thus, I'll be doing mini-updates when I can squeeze them in around everything else. That way, I don't feel like a complete loser for leaving all three of my readers hanging. XD Anyway, on to those wacky gothy Goreys.

As I mentioned at the end of my last post, I'd managed to track down the missing Enayla skintone. Huzzah!

Epergne models her proper fishbelly white skintone to start us off. She's actually pretty cute, giant lips aside.

And that's all for now! I hope I can get another mini-update done soonish, if life will just stop getting in the way of my game.
doronjosima: (Default)
Not dead yet! Watch me go!

First, we have a picture of Friedrich and Boggerslosh, showcasing their old, now lost, skintones. I still have not tracked down which old Enayla skintone I used when I made Friedrich- if I ever find it again, I'll reinstall it. (I could have sworn it was Alabaster, but apparently, I was wrong.) I miss their Munsters-like pallor.

In the cut, you can see the how they ended up...

I was really not expecting twins, and now have no idea what to do about the heir situation. Epergne was already starting to grow on me, but with the addition of Eepie and Embley, there's no telling who will win out in the end. I'll have to wait until they are all teenagers/college age, I am sure.

EDIT: Score! I finally tracked down Friedrich's original skin! It was one of Enayla's early vampire skins, so he and the kids have their skintone again. Alas, Eepie and Embley are still regular-colored, and not fishbelly white.
doronjosima: (huh)
It's been a cruddy week for me, and it's only Wednesday, so that means simming has occurred. Enjoy!

First things first, Naenae changed into an outfit that doesn't corset down her pregnant belly. Like any pregnant woman, she just wants to be comfortable.

I promise I haven't forgotten about the Rosales-Varmas, either. Their lot is just so big and there are so many of them, I haven't had time to devote to them lately between work and real life. I've got some more screenies to sort, and hopefully I can give them an update soonish. Thanks again for reading, and an extra big thanks for the comments. They make my day.
doronjosima: (love)
In which there is more college, and Our Hero gets hitched.

But first, a new outfit. I townified all my custom clothing with the fabulous Wardrobe Wrangler, to aid in the transitioning into less-hideous and possibly more-amusing clothing. However, I should have read every single post in the forums for said device, because then I would have known that townifying all your custom clothing means it no longer shows up for Young Adults. Argh! Thus, Friedrich was wearing a hideous orange track suit when I entered his dorm. Clearly, that had to go. (Supposedly the Young Adult issue will be fixed in future generations of the WW; I just got unlucky.)

And that's all for this chapter. Next time, moving, birth, and I'm sure more deep gothic poetry! Thanks for reading!
