The Gorey Legacy Part 4

Not dead yet! Watch me go!

First, we have a picture of Friedrich and Boggerslosh, showcasing their old, now lost, skintones. I still have not tracked down which old Enayla skintone I used when I made Friedrich- if I ever find it again, I'll reinstall it. (I could have sworn it was Alabaster, but apparently, I was wrong.) I miss their Munsters-like pallor.
In the cut, you can see the how they ended up...

While not terrible, they look remarkably healthy and glowing for goths. I still don't know how I feel about this development. Ah well, on with the show...

Sims not being particularly bright creatures, Naenae has absolutely no issues with her husband's complete change in skin color. She only mocks him a little...

... before rushing off to clean the toilet.

She was promoted to detective, so she got new work clothes. Of course, her tiny hat remains unmoved.

Friedrich continues to be a good father, feeding baby Epergne when she is actually hungry.

He also does diaper duty like a trooper.

Since I installed Free Time, everyone gets to try out hobby activities, just to see if they like them. Friedrich tries out The Sims 3, which he plays just like SSX3.

After work, the family tries to gather for meals, though Naenae is still turned off whenever Friedrich cooks.

Skilling must occur if Friedrich is to get promoted. He finally has his dream job, as a reporter.

Naenae, being a family sim, is a pretty decent mother. She dotes on her babies.

She also cleans obsessively.

It turns out her One True Hobby is Gaming. So, she fortunately gets extra enjoyment out of earning logic points with the chess table.

She is also apparently obsessed with cooking hamburgers.

Mother and son, enjoying lunch together.

Boggerslosh is actually a terribly cute toddler, in my opinion.

This terrifying creature wandered by in a sweet gothic lolita outfit, and managed to scare a skunk. I was heard to mutter "didn't I install new CAS face templates at some point...?"

Finally, it's birthday time! Alas, Friedrich isn't home to witness Boggy's transition.

I really do find the animation for the toddler's blowing out the candles to be the cutest thing ever.

Boggerslosh LEAPS into childhood!

He then RUNS FOR CAKE! Like anyone with any taste does, duh!

He also shows his nerdy side right away.

He turned out fairly cute. His eyes seem kind of small and his lips are HUGE! He should grow into them.

He drags his Frankiestein toy around with him everywhere.

Friedrich comes home from work and brings Mr. Ottomas with him from the family bin. I'm sorry, but this guy just screams closet case. What's going on with the giant Freddy Mercury Castro Street mustache?

Synchronized stench aversion. Like father, like son.

Naenae has trouble getting out of the room due to all the dancing.

And hey, it's Epergne's birthday as well! Also, witness the bizarre angle on the counter in this shot. I am still getting used to GunMod's camera mod.

Boggy comes to make a huge ruckus over the birthday.

Out go the candles.

And the traditional flinging of the baby occurs!

The verdict is that she is cute, after she gets some hair. (She had none!)

Naturally, since the last baby is a toddler, Naenae is interested in having another one, please and thank you.

Friedrich is only too happy to oblige! (Even though they're pretty shockingly poor after a remodel of the house to make a room for Epergne...)

Baby-makin' time!

They always fall asleep immediately afterwards. Unfortunately, this attempt did not take.

Friedrich: Hey babe, you should totally call me!
..... yes, of course, since she lives in the same house as you, happens to be your wife, and you already got it on two minutes ago... I think she might have scrambled his brains a little.

Baby-makin' time, scene one, take two, and ACTION!

The shamed faces say it all.

Naenae confirms it mere minutes later, just in case I didn't hear the little jingle.

She doesn't let pregnancy stop her from hammering on the broken shower in her underwear. That's our Naenae, all class.

Friedrich gets a bad chance card at work. (Normally, I ignore them, but I am trying to play "properly" for this Legacy...) Thus, he is fired from his dream job!

He's completely crushed.

Just in case you forgot about her, Epergne is still adorable.

Having one bathroom in the house is terrible, and thus Naenae pees herself in the hallway.

Thankfully, Friedrich is able to score a temp job as a university lecturer. This is fortunate, since they are painfully poor and can barely pay the nanny. (The nanny is oddly not made of fail, thus there are almost no pictures of her. Who wants to see someone who does their job properly?!)

Naenae does this Every. Time. She. Comes. Home. It's annoyance factor is only slightly mitigated by the cuteness factor of Boggy running to hug her.

However, today, he is impeded by a teen who has an unwholesome interest in him. GTFO, Pedobear!

And voila, second trimester is achieved. This will not help their financial situation.

The single bathroom exacts its horrible toll on Friedrich, who also pees himself in the hallway. Boggerslosh is unmoved.

Naenae continues to dote on Epergne.

She uses her time off to teach the baby to talk.

Her final trimester poof comes when she's exhausted and sound asleep. Naturally, it wakes her up. And it's the return of the default black jammies!

Boggerslosh gets an A+ report card, and feels the need to scream about it while his mother is desperately trying to get some rest. She's really not listening, honey, see the ZZZZZ's?

Epergne is taught to walk, in her eye-bleedingly neon colored room.

Either Naenae is on drugs, or she's toilet training Epergne.

Still not convinced she's not on drugs...

Friedrich congratulates Naenae on being really hot. No, really. I can only surmise it was on purpose to make her feel better about being the size of a house.

Epergne obviously figured out that whole walking thing.

Of course, the baby comes when Friedrich is at work. The nanny cringes in sympathy, no doubt remembering her painful home childbirths.

Useful Nanny: I don't know nothin' bout birthin' no babies!
Just get some hot water and lots of towels!

Oh no, Naenae, why'd you plop that baby on the floor?! WHY?!

Because it's twins, of course! Both girls, they are named Eepie and Embley. At this point, I cursed Naenae for having her Family Sim point maxed out.

Thankfully, the Useful Nanny scooped Eepie up from the floor.

Not anticipating twins, all three girls must share a bedroom. That's a lot of cribs in one place.

But, hey, soon it will be one crib less! Friedrich returns home from work just in time for Epergne's birthday.

The whole family gathers...

And the candles are defeated by wind!

Epergne leaps into childhood! Also, into a granny nightgown. Is this Little House on the Prairie? I think not!

She turns out fairly cute, though like Boggy, she shares the small eyes/big mouth combo deal.

Boggy doesn't really interact with his infant sisters, except to yell at them when they stink.

Naenae congratulates Epergne on growing up. Good show!

Finally, Friedrich's One True Hobby is revealed, when he suddenly gets a hankering to go bird-watching, complete with tweedy coat. He likes Nature!

And that's the end of this chapter. Naenae is no doubt coming outside to force him into another romantic pillow fight. Too bad, lady, you're not getting any more kids!
I was really not expecting twins, and now have no idea what to do about the heir situation. Epergne was already starting to grow on me, but with the addition of Eepie and Embley, there's no telling who will win out in the end. I'll have to wait until they are all teenagers/college age, I am sure.
EDIT: Score! I finally tracked down Friedrich's original skin! It was one of Enayla's early vampire skins, so he and the kids have their skintone again. Alas, Eepie and Embley are still regular-colored, and not fishbelly white.

Date: 2008-07-23 10:54 pm (UTC)I'm so glad I found the skin! They really looked weird without it. And weirdly, Eepie and Embley still are peach-colored. XD

Date: 2008-07-23 10:56 pm (UTC)I've finally gotten a little time to play the Goreys again, and Eepie and Embley are children now- and despite their overall peachy coloration, they are adorable! I'm sifting more screenies now on my time off, so hopefully I can get a new update up soon. ^_^ Thanks for sticking with me!
