doronjosimaPleasant Valley Sunday by the Monkees. I went through a big 1960's phase for a while when I was a teenager, doing my best to dress like Edie Sedgwick every day (went over great at my school, lemme tell ya), listening to 60's music, obsessing over Andy Warhol, mod fashion and pop art. (I was all about the mod sixties, not the hippie sixties...) My family lived in a suburb that had been built in the early 1960's and I'd listen to this song when I was stuck in my room on weekends or during the summer. So, it always is associated with my parents' old house in my mind and the particular way that afternoon light came into the upstairs bedrooms.
